Freeman Hurls Virginia Wesleyan to a 4-0 ODAC win over
R-MC Baseball
ASHLAND, VA - Virginia Wesleyan right-hander Jesse Freeman fired
a complete game shutout to help the Marlins to a 4-0 ODAC win over
Randolph-Macon on Wednesday afternoon in Virginia Beach.
Freeman limited the Jackets (19-14) to just four singles and a
walk, while striking out five to improve his record to 6-1 on the
season.
Matt Tiller and Kyle Hicks pitched for the R-MC, with Tiller
working the first four innings. The duo combined to strike out
seven, walk one, and allow nine hits and two earned runs.
Virginia Wesleyan took the lead in the first inning when junior
Kevin Nally singled to center field to score Ozz Dhramapitaksook,
who walked earlier in the inning.
The Marlins added another run in the third when junior Hilton
Ianniciello doubled down the left field line to score
Dhramapitaksook, who led off the inning with a single into left.
The Marlins tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth
as it went on to the victory.
R-MC will be back in action on Thursday at home when it takes on
Newport News Apprentice at 3:00 p.m. Prior to the game, the Yellow
Jackets will honor its four seniors on the roster.
