As a sophomore (2015): Byrd played in one match at #3 doubles where she posted a 1-0 record for the season...She claimed an 8-0 victory with partner Hanna Rinehart against Virginia Union....

Personal: Byrd attended LaPlata High School... She started playing tennis and field hockey during her sophomore year and lettered all three years...In field hockey, Byrd helped the team finish second in the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference (SMAC)...Byrd helped her tennis team finish second in the SMAC in her junior and senior seasons...Alex was voted team captain of the tennis team in her senior season and led the team to regionals, finished third in the SMAC and was voted MVP...Byrd played #2 singles and #1 doubles...Alex was an active member of the Student Government Association, National Honor Society and Kiwanis Club...Byrd intends to pursue a degree in Biology.
