Biography

As a junior (2016): Sam appeared in six games this season earning four starts... He tallied two goals and 10 assists including a season-high six in game against Virginia Wesleyan (4/20). Sam finished second on the team in assists with 10... He picked up nine groundballs and caused five turnovers.  

As a sophomore (2015): Appeared in 15 games with 13 starts for the Yellow Jackets...led the team in assists with 20...second on the team in points with 32...recorded 12 goals on the season including a season-high three against Goucher (2/28)...third on the team with 29 groundballs...registered a season-high five in the first game of the season against Piedmont (2/14)...caused eight turnovers on the season. 

As a freshman (2014): Sam appeared in 17 games with five starts in his first season for the Yellow Jackets...He tallied three goals and 12 assists...Mayer picked up 32 groundballs and caused nine turnovers on the season.

Personal: Mayer was a two sport athlete at Severna Park playing lacrosse and football. His senior year he was named team captain of the lacrosse team.
