Biography

As a senior (’16):  Played in all 11 games for the Yellow Jackets at Safety recording 50 total tackles, one forced fumble, and six pass breakups...  In the Yellow Jackets win over Washington and Lee Long had a season high 13 tackles and one forced fumble… Long earned All-ODAC First Team Honors.

As a junior (2015): Appeared in all 10 games for the Yellow Jackets... Led the team in total tackles (64) and solo tackles (47)... Long had a season high 14 tackles, 12 of which were solo, against W & L.... He had one forced fumble in game versus Emory & Henry.

As a sophomore (2014): Appeared in 6 games for the Yellow Jackets and finished second on the team in total tackles. Long recorded 18 tackles (14 solo, 4 assisted) at Washington-Lee on October 18th, and those included 1.5 tackles for a loss. He registered 12 total tackles in a home win over Sewanee, and Long recorded at least 5 tackles in every game he played. He averaged 9.8 tackles per game. In a home win over Averett, Long intercepted 1 pass to go along with 7 total tackles.

In High School: Earned three varsity letters in football while at Lake Braddok High School … helped lead his team to three Patriot District Championships and two Northern Regional Championships … Two time All-District Honoree (2011, 2012) while also earning All Region in 2011 ...
