As a Junior - 2017:

• Started all 41 games
• Led team with 48 RBI, 19 stolen bases, 8 sacrifice flies
• Batted .344 with .388 on-base percentage and .503 slugging percentage
• Went 3 for 5 with 2 homers, 3 runs and 5 RBI in first game at Guilford
• Had 4 hits, 2 doubles & 4 RBI at Ferrum
• Drove in 4 at home vs. Virginia Wesleyan
• Went 4 for 6 with 2 runs and 1 RBI in season finale vs. Roanoke
• Had 15 appearances on the mound with 1 start
• Went 2-2 with 6 saves
• Fanned 35 in 37.2 innings
• Struck out 6 in 3 hitless, scoreless innings at St. Mary's (Md.) to earn a save
• Earned win in lone start of the season vs. nationally-ranked Shenandoah in ODAC Tournament, going 7 innings with 1 unearned run, no walks and 2 strikeouts

As a Sophomore - 2016: 

• Named to the 2016 VaSID First Team All-State
• Named the Most Outstanding Player of ODAC Tournament
• Named to the Washington-Regional Tournament Team
• Named to the All-ODAC First Team
• Made 39 appearances in right field, earning 38 starts.
• Tallied 38 runs, 59 hits, 18 RBI, and ended the season with a .421 batting average.
• Ranked fifth in ODAC with 14 stolen bases.
• Registered 43 put outs and 19 assists.
• On the mound, Spiers earned 12 starts for the Yellow Jackets, recording 64 strikeouts in 72 innings pitched.

As a Freshman - 2015: 

• First Team All-State
• Third Team All-South Region
• Rookie of the Year by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).
• Named ODAC Rookie of the Year
• First Team All-ODAC
• Appeared in 28 games, starting 26 of them during his rookie season with the Yellow Jackets
• Tallied 70 at bats, 13 runs, 23 hits, and six RBI
• Registered 41 putouts and 19 assists as an outfielder
• From the mound in 11 games, he pitched 65 innings, tallying 51 strikeouts
• Led the ODAC for Pitching Wins (7) and Earned Runs Average (1.52)

Personal: Rick attended Matoaca High School where he played baseball and volleyball...He helped his baseball team claim the 5A Conference Championship in 2013 and 2014...Spiers received Conference Player of the Year honors in 2013 and 2014 and was a two-time Second Team All-Region selection...He was named First Team All-Metro in 2014.
