Biography

As a junior (2016): In his final season with the Yellow Jackets, Phelps made 15 appearances, earning 8 starts. He registered 51 strikeouts on the season in his 62 innings pitched. Phelps also pitched a complete game against Virginia Wesleyan (4/13) recording a career-best 11 strikeouts, giving up zero walks, and only awarding 1 run. Phelps finished sixth in the conference with a 2.67 ERA. 

As a sophomore (2015): Phelps appeared on the mound in 11 games, starting six of them for the Yellow Jackets…He pitched a total of 35 innings, tallying 18 strikeouts…He also registered one putout and three assists.

As a freshman (2014): Nic was named a member of the ODAC All-Academic Team...In his first season with the Yellow Jackets, Phelps appeared on the mound 10 times, earning two starts...He pitched 19.0 innings...Nic tallied 10 strikeouts, averaging 4.74 strikeouts per game.

Personal: Phelps graduated from Mills E. Godwin High School and earned four varsity letters in baseball...He intends to pursue a major in Business Management.
