As a Senior - 2019:

  • All-ODAC Second Team
  • 7th in nation in toughest to strikeout, 1 in every 34 at bats (136 at bats, 4 strikeouts)
  • Batted .404 with .491 on-base percentage
  • 14 multi-hit games
  • Ended season with 13-game hitting streak
  • 36 runs in 36 games
  • 12-13 in stolen bases
  • 3 hits and 3 runs in 13-4 win over Shenandoah
  • Program leader with 236 career hits, 662 at bats, 161 runs
  • Second in program history with 54 stolen bases
  • Fourth in program history with 122 RBI
  • Fifth in program history with 37 doubles
  • Ninth in program history with .356 batting average

As a Junior - 2018:

  • Named to VaSID College Division Baseball Second Team All-State
  • Selected to the All-ODAC First-Team
  • Started all 48 games for the Yellow Jackets in the 2018 season
  • Second in the ODAC tallying 199 at-bats
  • Fourth in the conference with 8 home runs on the year
  • Sixth in the conference recording 42 RBIs
  • Compiled 48 runs, 69 hits, and 12 stolen bases

As a Sophomore - 2017:

  • Appeared in and started 40 of 41 games
  • Reached base safely in first 22 games
  • Led team with 24 steal attempts and 11 sacrifice bunts
  • Second on team with 56 hits, .371 batting average, .523 slugging percentage, .447 on-base percetage, 18 stolen bases
  • Went 3 for 3 with 2 walks, 2 steals, 2 RBI & 1 walk in season opener vs. St. Mary's (Md.)
  • Went 2 for 3 with a double and 4 RBI in home win over Christopher Newport
  • Homered 4 times, all at home (vs. RPI, Rowan, Lynchburg, York)

As a Freshman - 2016:

  • Started all 44 games at short stop
  • Among 176 at bats, tallied 56 hits, 34 runs, 23 RBI, 12 stolen bases, and finished the season with a .318 batting average.
  • Notched 65 putouts, 137 assists, and was fifth in the conference for total plate appearances with 207.
  • Scored the game-winning run in a 4-3 win over Roanoke (4/16). 

Personal: Attended Western Branch High School and earned three varsity letters in baseball...Helped lead the Bruins to a 6A State Championship in 2014, a year in which they also won the 6A South Regional title and the Conference 2 Monitor-Merrimac tournament and regular season championships...The Bruins went back-to-back by winning the Conference regular season championship and the 6A South Regional championship in 2015...Butler was honored as an All-Conference selection and a 2nd Team All-Tidewater player in 2015.

Butler earned VHSL Academic Excellence awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015 for his accomplishments in the classroom and was also a part of the National Honor Society...He was a DECA member in 2012-2013 and was a Western Branch marshall in 2013-2014.

Butler's uncle, Justin Smith, is a 1994 graduate of Randolph-Macon and was a member of the men's tennis team.
