As a freshman (2016): In his rookie season, Ottinger made 8 appearances on the mound for the Yellow Jackets. He pitched a total of 14.2 innings and recorded 8 strikeouts. 

Personal: Ottinger transferred from Virginia Militiary Institutre... He attended Bendictine where he lettered in baseball for three years while also playing football, wrestling and indoor track... While in high school, Ottinger was a member of the National Honor Society... Three of Ottinger's relatives graduated from R-MC with Tracy Swezey Ottinger ('89), John Swezey ('64) and Jason Swezey ('13).
