LYNCHBURG, Va. - Randolph-Macon Men's Soccer opened up ODAC play against #8 Lynchburg, while simultaneously closing out a three-game road stretch.

How it Happened
- Randolph-Macon pressed the attack early in the match. In the sixth minute, Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) sent a shot into the low left of the goal, quickly grabbing a 1-0 lead.
- Five minutes later, the Hornets responded and leveled the match at 1-1 on a goal from Noah Coughlin, assisted by Jefferson Lopez Coreas and Bruno Rihil Silva.
- Over the next 20 minutes, each team traded opportunities, with Ethan Chenoweth (Newport News, Va./Warwick) making key saves to keep the match level.
- In the 38th minute, Barrett Wilson (Lexington, S.C./Lexington) had an opportunity but his shot was blocked. Each team traded possessions until the end of the half and headed into the break knotted at one.
- Coming out of the break, each team continued to trade chances with Bryce Hanna (Asheville, N.C./Asheville) testing the Hornets' keeper Vikram Couto.Â
- The Hornets continued to apply offensive pressure, testing Chenoweth with several chances on frame.Â
- In the 77th minute, the defensive duel picked up and each team hunkered down. Jayden Walker (Suffolk, Va./Norfolk Collegiate) continued to be a threat on the press, limiting the Hornets' ability to attack.
- During the final 10 minutes of the match, LYN rattled off two shots to try and grab the lead but RMC continued to hold firm defensively thanks to great play from Quinn Conlan (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding), Charis Tchatat (Douala, Cameroon/Albert Einstein), Rylan Sumner (Richmond, Va./J.R. Tucker) and Hanna.

- Chenoweth played the full 90 minutes, allowing only one goal and saving five shots on frame.
- Damien Jackson tallied the Yellow Jackets' lone goal on the evening.
- The Hornets outshot the Yellow Jackets 17-to-three overall and seven-to-two in shots on frame.
- The Lemon and Black did not record a corner in the match while Lynchburg recorded six of its own.
