How it Happened

- Four minutes later, Davian Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) sent another shot on frame, testing Randolph's keeper Dominic Cortes.
- In the 39th minute, Rylan Sumner (Richmond, Va./J.R. Tucker) added his second goal of the season on a free kick that skipped across the grass into the net, doubling the Lemon and Black's lead.
- In the final 10 minutes of the first half, the WildCats tested Ethan Chenoweth (Newport News, Va./Warwick) on two separate occasions but he saved both opportunities. The Yellow Jackets maintained their 2-0 lead as the teams headed to the break.
- Coming out of the break, Randolph tested Chenoweth once again in the 50th minute.
- Quinn Conlan (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding), Bryce Hanna (Asheville, N.C./Asheville ), Tchatat and Sumner hunkered down on the RMC backline by not allowing another shot from Randolph over the next 20 minutes.
- The Lemon and Black continued to apply offensive pressure throughout the half, testing Cortes on multiple occasions, with Kopp being a calming presence in the midfield while being a dangerous player on the offensive end.
