ASHLAND, Va. - After making his Double-A debut with the Montgomery Biscuits on April 3, former Randolph-Macon right-handed pitcher Hayden Snelsire (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) notched his first-career Triple-A appearance, throwing for the Durham Bulls on Friday, May 22.
In his Triple-A debut, Snelsire posted two scoreless innings of work against the Nashville Sounds, giving up just two hits and registering one strikeout.
Overall in the Minor Leagues, Snelsire has not allowed more than one run in four of his last five outings. Furthermore, he has pitched two-or-more innings in each of his last three games, while giving up just one run in those six innings.
Snelsire was selected in the 17th round of the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. A 2023 graduate of RMC, Snelsire posted an 8-2 record with a 2.99 ERA. He recorded 107 strikeouts in his 69.1 innings of work in 2023, while earning both All-Region and All-America Honors from ABCA/Rawlings.
