Logan Duff (Forest, Va./Liberty Christian) went 5 for 6 with a double, five RBI and three sacrifice flies as Randolph-Macon baseball finished its season as runner-up to fourth-ranked Rowan in the Glassboro Super Regional.

How It Happened – Game 1
- After the Profs plated three in the bottom of the first, the Yellow Jackets responded in the top of the second. Duff had a leadoff single, went to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on an errant throw to second and scored when Zach Stolze (Towson, Md./Loyola Blakefield) reached on an error to make it 3-1.
- Rowan added one in the bottom of the second before RMC put up a crooked number in the top of the third. Jack Bowles (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) drew a one-out walk and advanced to third when Zach Wernoski (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) reached second on an error. With two away, Duff deposited a double in the right field corner to knock in Bowles and Wernoski, making it a one-run contest at 4-3.
- The Profs tallied one in the fourth before the Yellow Jackets answered in the fifth. Bowles picked up a leadoff walk and went to second on a base hit by Wernoski. Carter Schmitt (Glen Allen, Va./St. Christopher's) beat out a bunt for a single to load the bases. Duff drove a sacrifice fly to right to bring home Bowles, making it 5-4.
- Rowan added two in the bottom of the fifth before RMC got back on the scoreboard in the seventh. Wernoski started the inning with a homer to left, his team-leading fifth of the season, to pull the Yellow Jackets within two at 7-5. Schmitt doubled to left and stayed there when Duff singled to short. Stolze reached on an error to load the bases before Schmitt scored on a sacrifice fly by Jon Quici (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga) to make it 7-6. Duff scampered home on a wild pitch to level the score at 7-7.
- The Profs had a two-run double in the seventh and a two-run homer in the eighth to make the final 11-7.

How It Happened – Game 2
- After William Wian (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) kept the Profs off the board in the top of the first, the Yellow Jackets took the lead in the bottom of the frame. Bowles had a leadoff single and went to third when Wernoski doubled down the left field line. Bowles scored on a groundout by Schmitt and Wernoski came home on a sacrifice fly by Duff to give RMC a 2-0 advantage.
- Rowan cut the deficit in half in the top of the second before the Yellow Jackets added to their lead in the fourth. Schmitt had a leadoff single, went to third on a base hit by Duff and scored on a sacrifice fly by Quici to give RMC a 3-1 edge.
- The Profs plated one in the fifth and three in the sixth before RMC answered in the bottom of the sixth. Wernoski had a leadoff single and took third on a double by Schmitt. Wernoski scored on a wild pitch and Schmitt came in on a sacrifice fly by Duff to even the score at 5-5.
- Rowan used a grand slam in the ninth to claim the 9-5 win.

- Rowan had a 12-7 advantage in hits.
- Duff had two hits and two RBI.
- Schmitt went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs and one RBI.
- Wernoski had two hits, including a double, and scored twice.
- Wian hurled five innings with five strikeouts after pitching 6.1 scoreless innings on Sunday vs. Penn State Harrisburg in the Regional-clinching game.
For the Record
- The RMC senior class of Elias Brooks, Colin Casey, Logan Duff, Tanner Gates, Connor McAuley, Carter Schmitt and William Wian recorded 125 victories, the second-highest four-year total in program history. They reached the NCAA Championship all four seasons, a first in program history. They won two Regional titles and one Super Regional crown along with making an appearance in the Division III World Series in 2024.
- Duff finished the season as the team leader with .379 batting average, .516 slugging percentage, .959 OPS, 13 doubles, 46 RBI and seven sacrifice flies.
- Schmitt had one RBI to raise his career total to a program-best 150. He raised his career hit total 224, the second-highest total in program history. Schmitt finished third in RMC history with 154 runs and 629 at-bats. He scored in 12 of his final 13 games of the 2026 season.
- With hits in both games, Wernoski has reached base in 28 consecutive games, with a hit in 18 of his last 19.
- With two walks in the opener and a hit in the nightcap, Bowles has reached base in 21 consecutive games. He finished the season with 39 walks, tied for third in program history for walks in a season.
