ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon men's basketball has been selected as one of 16 schools to host the opening weekend of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament on March 6-7.
The Yellow Jackets will meet N.C. Wesleyan for the fifth time in program history. The Battling Bishops come into the tournament with a 21-6 record and defeated Pfeiffer in the USA South championship game to punch their ticket to the tournament. N.C. Wesleyan boasts the third-best field percentage in the country at 50.5 percent.
Randolph-Macon has met TCNJ once in program history, an 85-71 victory in 2020 to advance the Yellow Jackets to the Sweet 16. That would be the final game of the season, due the rest of the tournament being cancelled due to the COVID outbreak. The Yellow Jackets have had 15 meetings against Johns Hopkins in program history, most recently a 76-42 victory, during the 2010-11 season.
TCNJ (21-6) will play Johns Hopkins (20-7) at 4:15 p.m. in Crenshaw Gym on Friday, March 6.
Randolph-Macon sitting at 25-3, will host N.C. Wesleyan (21-6) on Friday night at 6:45 p.m.
The winners of the two contests will meet in the second round on Saturday, March 7 at 6:45 p.m. in Ashland.
