NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Senior goalie
Gillian Gladden (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) has been named IWLCA Defensive Player of the Week. Gladden was named to the award for the first time in her career, adding to the ODAC honors she garnered earlier this season. This is also the first time this season an RMC player has been recognized.
The Yellow Jackets had a midweek matchup with St. Mary's College (Md.) on Day Field, earning a 9-7 win. They finished off the week on Saturday with a dominant 15-4 win over Meredith.
Against the Seahawks, Gladden posted nine saves on 20 shots faced for a save percentage of .563. Against the Avenging Angels, she recorded 11 saves on 17 shots faced for a save percentage of .733 on the afternoon. In the past two games, Gladden has faced 37 shots, saving 20 and allowing only 11 goals. She has also posted a save percentage north of .550 in each of her last two contests.
RMC continues the regular season with its first game of ODAC play when it hosts No. 12 Washington and Lee on Wednesday, March 18. The first draw is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
