How it Happened
  • RMC opened the game on the offensive, posting the first four shots of the game. After the Chargers recorded their first and only corner of the quarter, the road team followed up with two of their own. After putting a shot on goal earlier in the frame, the Yelow Jackets' fifth shot was a goal from Breea Dresler (Yorktown, Va./Tabb), with just 23 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
  • The second quarter saw the Yellow Jackets open with the momentum again, registering three shots and two penalty corners in the first 10 minutes. They continued to stay aggressive, attempting another penalty corner with just 1:30 remaining in the half. Although they entered the half up 1-0, they were able to hold the Chargers to no penalty corners.
  • After Dresler opened the third with yet another shot, Randolph-Macon took a 2-0 lead, thanks to a goal from Kylee Gorham (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland). Gorham's team went on to record four more consecutive shots, before attempting their first penalty corner of the quarter. Then, with less than five minutes remaining in the quarter, Penelope Trageser (Midlothian, Va./Clover Hill) recorded her first career goal, putting her team up, 3-0.
  • Despite the lead, RMC began the last frame of play with three shots and three penalty corners within the first three minutes. After being given their fourth penalty corner of the quarter with five minutes remaining, the Jackets just maintained their 3-0 lead, improving to 5-3 on the year.
