How It Happened
- From the opening whistle, Randolph-Macon dictated the pace of play. The Yellow Jackets' backline, anchored by Bryce Kuberek (King George, Va./King George), Grant Counts (Odenton, Md./St. Mary's [Annapolis]), and Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville), stood firm defensively, while the offense generated several promising chances that came up just short. The teams went into halftime deadlocked at 0-0.
- The Lemon and Black carried their momentum into the second half. In the 54th minute, Barrett Wilson (Lexington, S.C./Lexington) connected with Kuberek, who netted his first career goal to give Randolph-Macon a 1-0 advantage. Just four minutes later, Counts sent a ball up the right sideline to Grayson Woods (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park), who beat his defender on a slide tackle and tallied his fifth goal of the season, doubling the Yellow Jackets' lead.
- Randolph-Macon controlled possession the rest of the way, thanks to strong midfield play from Zach Richards (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) and Tyler Oakes (Nottingham, England/Toothill School) securing the Lemon and Black's second shutout of the season.
