How it Happened
- The first half was slow for each team to gain any kind of offensive momentum to take the lead. Bryce Kuberek (King George, Va./King George) and Zach Richards (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) showed great play throughout the first half and in the game with help in both the offensive and defensive zones for the Yellow Jackets. Each team put shots on frame, but neither was able to take the lead as the game went 0-0 into the halftime break.
- Ohio Northern did not waste time getting on the board in the second half, scoring just five minutes into the half. Gage Foster sent in a free kick from outside the box, and Colin Gottron cleaned up the rebound to find the back of the net for the Polar Bear lead.
- The Lemon and Black had a chance for an equalizer in the 64th minute. Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) sent a beautiful arching throw-in on goal, but Randolph-Macon was whistled offside.
- In the final minutes, Ohio Northern sealed the game, keeping possession in the Yellow Jackets' defensive corner.
Inside the Numbers

- Quinn Conlan (Crofton, Md./Archbishop Spalding) put in a strong 45-minute shift at right back during his first career start.
