ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon sophomore outfielder
Jack Bowles (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) has been selected to the 2025 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA Division III Region 6 All-Defensive Team.
Bowles primarily played right field for the Yellow Jackets. He recorded 82 putouts and had five outfield assists. All five assists nailed runners at home to end innings in RMC wins.
His first assist came on April 10 at Mary Washington in the bottom of the third as RMC maintained a 2-0 lead on its way to an 8-2 victory.
The second assist for Bowles was on April 16 at home vs. Hampden-Sydney in the top of the sixth to keep the Yellow Jackets within one at 4-3 on the way to a 5-4 win in 11 innings.
His third assist was on April 26 in the second game at Guilford in the bottom of the first to keep the game scoreless in an eventual 10-2 RMC win.
The fourth assist for Bowles happened on May 4 at home in the finale of the three-game set with H-SC in the first round of the ODAC Championship in the top of the fourth with the Yellow Jackets holding a 5-3 lead on their way to a 20-11 victory.
His final assist was on May 10 against fourth-ranked and top-seeded Lynchburg in the bottom of the second as RMC trailed 2-0 prior to a 6-5 win to force a second ODAC Tournament Championship Game.
Under head coach
Ray Hedrick, the Yellow Jackets went 31-17. RMC finished second in the ODAC with a 15-7 conference mark and was runner-up in the ODAC Championship. The Yellow Jackets earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship for the third consecutive season and hosted a Regional for the first time in program history. RMC placed third in the Ashland Regional.
