LYNCHBURG, Va. – Freshman
William Tuttle (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) had a two-run double as the Randolph-Macon baseball team dropped a 5-3 decision at No. 3 Lynchburg in ODAC action on Tuesday afternoon.

How It Happened:
- The Hornets scored an unearned run in the first before the Yellow Jackets responded in the top of the third. Sophomore Jack Bowles (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) worked a walk with two away. Senior Aaron Lautenschlager (Purcellville, Va./Loudoun Valley) singled to center and Bowles was able to score when the ball was mishandled to even the score at 1-1.
- RMC took the lead an inning later. Senior Chaz Harvey (Charlottesville, Va./Miller School) drew a leadoff walk and went to second on a base hit to left by sophomore Jon Quici (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga). Sophomore James Baffone (Wilmington, Del./St. Mark's) laid down a sacrifice bunt that moved both runners up 90 feet. Tuttle doubled to knock in both runners and give the visitors a 3-1 advantage.
- Lynchburg added a run in the bottom of the fourth to pull within one at 3-2.
- Junior William Wian (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) pitched six innings with four hits, one earned run, two walks and five strikeouts.
- The Hornets tied the game with a two-out rally in the seventh.
- The Yellow Jackets put two in scoring position in the eighth, but a groundout ended the rally.
- Lynchburg scored two with two away in the eighth to take a 5-3 lead.
- RMC put two on with one away in the ninth, but a foul out and a fielder's choice ended the contest.
