FERRUM, Va. –
Catherine Kagey (Roanoke, Va./Faith Christian) recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds as No. 19 Randolph-Macon women's basketball outscored Ferrum 14-1 in the final period to record a 56-49 road victory on Saturday afternoon, its 21st consecutive win, to secure the ODAC regular-season crown and the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

How it Happened:
- The Panthers scored the first four points and built a 9-4 lead three minutes into the contest. Kagey sank a pair of free throws to pull the Yellow Jackets within three. Ferrum pushed the lead to six and had a 21-15 advantage after one period.
- A triple by Bella Bruce (Herndon, Va./Westfield) cut the deficit to three early in the second quarter. The Panthers used a 12-4 run to go up 33-22 with three minutes left in the period. Juliana Park (Fairfax Station, Va./Davidson Day) nailed a three-pointer and Kagey made two more foul shots as the visitors trailed 33-27 at the half.
- Kagey hit a jumper one minute into the third quarter to narrow the gap to four at 33-29. Ferrum had a layup with 1:26 left to extend the lead to eight at 48-40, but that would be its final field goal of the game. Kagey made two more free throws as the Yellow Jackets trailed 48-42 heading to the fourth period.
- McKenzie Matheny (Fairfax Station, Va./West Springfield) made a pair of free throws, Sam Smith (Chesterfield, Va./St. Gertrude's) sank a three-pointer and Park scored from behind the arc as RMC took its first lead at 50-48 with 6:38 remaining. A layup by Kagey and two foul shots by Matheny made it a six-point lead at 54-48 with 2:33 left. The Panthers made a free throw before Matheny made a layup with 1:06 remaining to make the final 56-49.
Inside the Numbers
- The RMC defense held Ferrum to 0 for 10 shooting from the floor in the fourth quarter and forced five turnovers. The Panthers shot 52% from the field during the first three quarters. The Yellow Jackets had a 14-6 advantage on the boards in the final period.
- The Yellow Jackets outrebounded the Panthers 37-30 for the game. Kagey paced RMC with 10 rebounds, while Matheny grabbed seven and Smith snagged six.
- Kagey led the victors with 21 points. Park added 11, Smith had nine and Matheny scored eight.
- The Yellow Jackets hit 17 of 21 free throws for 81%. Smith was 6 for 6, Matheny was 4 for 4 and Kagey was 7 for 9.
- Smith and Kagey topped RMC with four assists each.
- Kagey also recorded three steals.

- RMC won its ninth ODAC regular-season championship and first since 2011.
- The 22 wins for the Yellow Jackets are the most since RMC posted a 23-6 record during the 2017-18 season.
- The 21-game win streak is the second-longest in program history. The Yellow Jackets won 23 straight during the 2004-05 campaign.
