Eliasek, Casciola and Arruza Headline All-ODAC Awards

FOREST, Va. – Randolph-Macon senior linebacker Daniel Eliasek (Midlothian, Va./Trinity) was named the Lou Wacker Defensive Player of the Year, Pedro Arruza was voted ODAC Coach of the Year and senior quarterback Dante Casciola (Charlotte, N.C./Weddington) was awarded the ODAC/Va. Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete  as the conference office released the All-ODAC awards.

The Yellow Jackets had 17 players earn all-conference honors. 

All-ODAC First Team selections included seniors Mitchell Johnson (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan) at running back, Landon Farriss (New Hanover, N.C./New Hanover) at tight end, Brady Kinloch (Leesburg, Va./Tuscarora) on the defensive line, Daniel Eliasek (Midlothian, Va./Trinity) at linebacker and Kindin Richardson (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) at defensive back. Myles Bridges (Henrico, Va./Benedictine) and Chop Deaver (Fayetteville, N.C./Terry Sanford) made the first team as juniors on the offensive line. 

Yellow Jackets on All-ODAC Second Team were senior quarterback Dante Casciola (Charlotte, N.C./Weddington), senior running back Cameron Chatmon (Willow Springs, N.C./Green Level), juniors Quentin Mankin (Dinwiddie, Va./Dinwiddie) and Christian Daniel (Willow Springs, N.C./Overhills) in the defensive backfield. Sophomore offensive lineman AJ Evans-Jones (Waldorf, Md./North Point) and sophomore defensive lineman Tim Semisch (Midlothian, Va./Benedictine) rounded out the group.       

All-ODAC Third Team members were senior wide receiver Jason Moore (Craven County, N.C./Havelock), along with senior linebackers Neftali Reyes (Falls Church, Va./Justice) and Brandon Watson (York, Pa./Central York). Senior defensive back Alex Biddle (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) was the final member of the third team.    

Eliasek was named as a preseason all-american by d3football.com heading into this season. He recorded 60 tackles to lead the team. He had three forced fumbles, three pass break-ups and three quarterback hurries. The senior also had an interception against Shenandoah this past season. The Midlothian native was named ODAC Defensive Player of the Week, following his ten tackle and interception performance against Shenandoah. He also ranked 26th in the country in forced fumbles. Eliasek was All-ODAC First Team in 2024 and is the first defensive player of the year for Randolph-Macon since Jace DePriest'23 won in the 2022 season. 

Farriss, Bridges, Deaver and Evans-Jones anchored an offensive line for Randolph-Macon this past season. The group was a part of an offense that ranked 13th nationally in rushing offense for 231.3 yards per game and ranked in the top-25 for sacks allowed (8). Their play also played a huge part in the Lemon and Black holding the sixth most time of possession (34:08). Farriss also contributed through the passing attack, recording four touchdown receptions and totalled 130 yards on 12 receptions.  

Richardson, Daniel, Mankin and Biddle were elite pieces in the secondary for the Lemon and Black. The group combined for 149 tackles, 8 interceptions and 13 pass break-ups. Daniel led the team in interceptions (4) and Mankin added a forced fumble and fumble recovery to his stat sheet. Richardson recorded two interceptions, three pass break-ups and added two fumble recoveries. Biddle led the group in pass break-ups with five on the year, going along with a fumble recovery. The four Yellow Jackets were key in a defense that led the nation in overall turnovers forced (30) and sixth in the country in interceptions (19).  
   
Johnson was stellar in the backfield for the Lemon and Black this season. The senior ended the regular season with 637 yards rushing on 115 carries with nine touchdowns that led the team. The Powhatan native sits tied for fifth on the all-time rushing touchdown list with 31 in his career. 

Kinloch ended the year with 15 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, four pass break-ups, four hurries and an interception at the defensive tackle position. 

Casciola completed 64.66% of his passes, throwing for 895 yards and eight touchdowns. He also ran for 391 yards and eight scores, posting a game in which he scored four times on the ground against Hampden-Sydney. 

Chatmon ended the season with 610 rushing yards on 109 carries, adding six touchdowns to his stat sheet.

Semisch had a standout season on the defensive line, totalling 25 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss. The sophomore ranked fourth in the conference in sacks (5.5) and eighth in tackles for loss (9.5). He also led the team in quarterback hurries with nine on the season and added a forced fumble against Washington and Lee.  

Moore was used in different positions and situations for the Randolph-Macon offense. The Craven County, North Carolina native led the team in receiving yards with 439 on 30 receptions with three touchdowns. Moore was also used in the run game, posting 189 yards on 14 attempts for one touchdown. His biggest game came against Shenandoah, accumulating 133 all-purpose yards and was highlighted by a 66-yard rushing touchdown to kick off the second half.  

Watson ended the regular season third on the team in tackles with 51, all coming from the linebacker position. The senior returned two different interceptions for touchdowns during the season (Dickinson and Guilford). He also had three pass break-ups, two quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles for the Yellow Jacket defense. Watson recorded four tackles for loss, including a sack against Bridgewater. 

Reyes was second on the team in tackles with 53. The senior closed out his regular season with 3.5 tackles for loss, including 2.5 sacks and two quarterback hurries. 

Arruza was named ODAC Coach of the Year for the seventh time in his tenure at Randolph-Macon (2008, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2025). He has directed the Yellow Jackets to at least nine wins for the seventh straight year (excluding the 2020 covid season). Since 2016, the Yellow Jackets have registered a record of 91-16 and 61-6 in the conference. Arruza has also led the Lemon and Black to an active conference winning streak of 33 games. Randolph-Macon won its fourth straight ODAC title and seventh in the past ten seasons.   

The Yellow Jackets will travel to #8 John Carroll University to take on the Blue Streaks in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Football Championship on Saturday, November 29 at noon in University Heights, Ohio.
