FOREST, Va. – Randolph-Macon senior linebacker Daniel Eliasek (Midlothian, Va./Trinity) was tabbed ODAC Defensive Player of the Week after a stellar performance to help the eighteenth-ranked Yellow Jackets to a 31-14 victory at home over Shenandoah.

Eliasek led the Lemon and Black defense with ten tackles and an interception. The Midlothian native kept the interception streak going for the Randolph-Macon defense, running the total to nine games. 

In the first quarter, Eliasek picked off a pass at the SU 40 yard line to set up an eventual touchdown for the Yellow Jacket offense.  

The defense held the Shenandoah offense to 32 yards rushing and 165 total yards in the entire game. The effort also forced six Hornet punts and the offense was only able to gain 3.2 yards per play. 

Randolph-Macon now ranks first in the country in overall turnovers (28), second in interceptions (18), turnover margin (2.22) and defensive touchdowns (5). The team is fifth in fumble recoveries (10) and seventh in rushing defense (53.6).  

RMC 8-1 (7-0) will head into its bye week before hosting the 130th Edition of "The Game" against rival Hampden-Sydney on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 1:00 p.m.
