– Randolph-Macon Men's Basketball had five players score in double figures as strong defense pushed the Yellow Jackets to a 77-54 victory over Averett on Saturday evening.

How it Happened:
- Averett opened the game with a bucket in the post, but the Jackets responded with a layup by Delani Hammonds (Charlotte, N.C./Ardey Kell). The game was tied at nine with 14:20 to go in the first half, before an 11-2 run gave RMC momentum early on. A three pointer by Theo Antinori (Asheville, N.C./Rabun Gap) made the lead double-digits for the first time at 25-15 with 6:53 remaining until the halftime break. Amr Areikat (Ramallah, Palestine/Langley) scored 11 points in a two-and-a-half-minute span to push the RMC lead out to 36-19. AU hit two free throws with 17 seconds until half to make the halftime score 42-27 in favor of the Jackets.
- Offense was few and far between to open the second half. RMC held a double-digit lead until the Cougars chipped away at the lead, cutting it to 10 at 58-48 following a three pointer with 7:40 to play. Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) and Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) went on a 13-3 run by themselves to give RMC the lead for good at 71-51. Vincent Payne (Frederick, Md./St. Maria Goretti) and Oliver Jones (Middletown, Del./South Kent Prep) each hit a triple in the final minute to help give RMC a 23-point win.
Inside the Numbers:
- RMC held their sixth-straight opponent to 60 or less points, coinciding with their six-game win streak.
- Five Jackets players scored in double-figures and nine players scored overall.
- Robinson used 14 second half points to finish with 16 with seven rebounds.
- Malcolm Hodges (Richmond, Va./Monacan) posted a double-double, scoring 11 points and had 10 rebounds.
- Areikat totaled 15 points, all in the first half. It is his most points in a game since Dec. 4 against Guilford.
- Antinori and Pulley Jr. each had 11 points.
- RMC held the Cougars to just 32.6% shooting and 21.4% from three.
