ASHLAND, Va. – Following a trip to the NCAA Tournament third round in 2024, Randolph-Macon Football has its sights set on the 2025 campaign.

Pedro Arruza, RMC finished the 2024 season 10-2 overall with a 7-0 conference mark, capturing the 15
th ODAC title in program history. The Yellow Jackets were selected to host an NCAA Tournament game for the third consecutive year, defeating Washington and Jefferson, 38-22. RMC were No. 20 in the final D3football.com Top 25 Poll and No. 18 in the AFCA Coaches Poll.
Dickinson makes the return trip of the home-and-home to open the season on September 6. RMC won last year's matchup 47-21 in Carlisle, Pa. and boast a 6-0 record in the all-time series. The Red Devils finished the 2024 season 4-6 overall and 2-4 in the Centennial Conference.
In the second, and final, non-conference game, Randolph-Macon makes its first trip west of the Mississippi River in program history to take on Central College in Pella, Iowa on Sept. 13. The Dutch went 8-2 a season ago, with a 6-2 record in the American Rivers Conference, losing their two games by a combined seven points to Wartburg and Coe, two NCAA Tournament teams in 2024.
The Lemon and Black will open conference play on Sept. 20 at Bridgewater. The Eagles concluded the 2024 season with a 6-4 record and went 4-3 in ODAC play. RMC won last year's matchup 49-16 on homecoming. The Yellow Jackets are 65-17-3 in the series against Bridgewater, their most wins against any single opponent in the program's history, and have won nine of the last 10 meetings.
On Sept. 27, RMC will welcome Washington and Lee to Ashland for Hall of Fame and Family Weekend. Another storied series history, the Yellow Jackets defeated W&L 20-7 in Lexington last year and lead the all-time series 36-28-3, including a 21-11 home record. The two sides have split the last 18 meetings since 2006. The Generals went 7-4 last season and 5-2 in the ODAC, defeating Wilkes, 40-21, in the Chesapeake Challenge to complete the season.
Randolph-Macon will travel to Roanoke on October 4. (30,278 days since the last meeting) After playing a four-game slate in 2024, the Maroons are competing in their first full season of varsity competition since 1942. The two sides have met 12 times from 1920-1942, with Roanoke leading the series 6-4-2. RMC won the most recent meeting 19-0 on November 11, 1942.
Averett comes to Day Field on October 11. RMC defeated the Cougars 49-10 in Danville last season. The Yellow Jackets lead the series 12-0, including a 3-0 mark since Averett joined the conference in 2022.
On Oct. 18, RMC heads to Greensboro to play at Guilford, beginning a two-game road stint. The Yellow Jackets won last year's meeting 63-0 in Greensboro. The Quakers went 3-7 in 2024 with an 0-7 record in conference play.
A new face in the conference marks the final road game of the regular season, as the Yellow Jackets travel to Washington, D.C. on Oct. 25 to play Gallaudet, who is playing in the ODAC for the first time this coming season. RMC owns an 11-2 record against the Bison, but the two have not met since 1968. The Bison accumulated a 5-4 record in 2024, including wins in five of their final six games.
The ensuing week, Randolph-Macon will return home to battle Shenandoah on November 1 for Senior Day and Homecoming. Coming off a strong season, the Hornets finished with an 8-3 record and went 5-2 in ODAC play, earning a trip to the Chesapeake Challenge, where they were defeated by Moravian, 35-14. RMC has won seven in a row against Shenandoah and leads the all-time series 15-3, which includes a 22-21 win for the Yellow Jackets in Winchester last season.
Following the open weekend, Randolph-Macon will conclude the regular season against Hampden-Sydney in Ashland on November 15. The Yellow Jackets are 58-60-11 all-time against the Tigers and have won 11 straight games in the series, including a 27-6 win on the road in 2024.
