How it Happened:
- Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) got the scoring started with a layup in the first minute of the game. He had the first five points for the Yellow Jackets as he helped RMC open an 11-5 lead at the first media timeout. The Generals stayed at just five points through the first 11 minutes as the Yellow Jackets built a 21-5 lead with just under nine minutes to go in the first half. After a long drought of scoring for both teams, Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) hit a three pointer to give RMC a 32-17 lead with 1:34 to go until half. RMC went into the locker room with a 34-20 lead through 20 minutes of play.
- The Yellow Jackets defense locked down, as they did not allow the Generals to score a point in the second half through six minutes, allowing RMC to grow a 47-20 lead. In those six minutes, Pulley Jr. had eight points to help fuel the offense. W&L was able to score just one point to break the run before it restarted. RMC went on an 8-0 run over the next three minutes to make the lead 55-21. The Generals finally found their footing on offense but it was too little, too late, as RMC maintained their lead through the remainder of the game, cruising to the finish line for a 72-45 victory.
