ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon men's soccer began their two-game weekend homestand by dropping its match with Marymount (Va.) on friday night in Ashland by a score of 3-2.

How it Happened
- Marymount opened the scoring within the first ten minutes of the game. The Yellow Jackets got the ball taken by Leonardo Torres in the midfield, he sent the ball into the box for Jefferson Lopez Coreas that found the back of the net.
- The Lemon and Black had multiple corner opportunities early on the in the first half and Wiley Eubank (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) made the most of his chance in the 21st minute. The junior sent in the ball from the far corner and curled it past the Saint goalkeeper, to score a goal of his own from a corner kick.
- Randolph-Macon owned the possession for the majority of the first half and had great looks at goal, but the Saints defense would be up to the challenge and keep the 1-1 score into halftime.
- Marymount answered the pressure by the Yellow Jackets early on the second half sending three shots at goal and gaining the lead in the 53rd minute by Torres for a 2-1 lead.
- The Lemon and Black would almost tie the game right back up in the 57th minute, as Dylan Matheny (Chesterfield, Va./Clover Hill) had two shots at goal and the second being saved by the Saints defenseman.
- Torres notched his second goal of the game in the 63rd minute to create some breathing room for Marymount late in the match.
- The Lemon and Black would not go away easy, in the 88th minute Hawkins Adcock (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale) found the redirected save to pull the Yellow Jackets within a goal, still down 3-2.
- Marymount would drain out the rest of the time on the clock to stop any hope of a Randolph-Macon late game comeback, with the score at 3-2.
Inside the Numbers
- Randolph-Macon outshot the Saints 23-18. The Yellow Jackets put 12 shots on frame, compared to the eight Marymount managed to get on target.
- Randolph-Macon had 14 corner opportunities, as Marymount recorded seven corner opportunities.
- Adam Braithwaite (Chesterfield, Va./Matoaca) recorded five saves in goal for the Yellow Jackets, with his fourth save putting him fourth all-time in career saves.
- Eubank and Adcock both recorded goals for the Yellow Jackets.
