LEXINGTON, Va. – Randolph-Macon Women's Swimming opened the 2024-25 campaign with a fourth-place finish in the annual ODAC Relays hosted by Washington and Lee.

The best finish of the day for the Yellow Jackets came in the 3x50 breaststroke, finishing in second with a time of 1:36.50. The group of
Teaghan McNeill (Knightdale, N.C./Enloe),
Madi Reed (Stephens City, Va./Sherando), and
Sophia Hanson (Hamilton, Va./Woodgrove) finished a second behind the event winners and outlasted three other teams who were within a two seconds of the Yellow Jackets.

RMC started the day with a time of third place finish in the 100 free.
Sophie Sullivan (Richmond, Va./Saint Catherine's), McNeill,
Reese Painter (Houston, Tex./Duchesne Academy of Sacred Heart), and
Cayden Fix (Barboursville, Va./William Monroe) finished in 47.33, exactly one second behind the leader.

In the 3x50 backstroke, the Yellow Jackets' group of
Kelsey James (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial), Painter, and
Caroline Russell (Lynchburg, Va./EC Glass) took fourth in 1:25.02. They also grabbed fourth in the 200 free in 1:43.63 with a group of Fix, McNeill, James, and Sullivan. The same group had a top-five finish in the 400 free as well.

James, Hanson, Sullivan, and Fix had a strong showing in the 200 medley, as they finished in 1:54.13 for fifth place. That time was just over a second behind second place in a packed race.
