How it Happened
- The first half was slow for both teams, as each side had two shots on goal that were stopped by the goalkeepers. The Yellow Jackets did manage to produce more looks at goal, having two corner opportunities in the first 45 minutes of the game compared to Regent not recording an opportunity.
- Randolph-Macon didn't waste time to grab the lead in the second half, as Edwards took the feed from Wiley Eubank (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) to notch his second goal of the season in the 48th minute.
- Randolph-Macon saw impact play from Bryce Kuberek (King George, Va./King George) and Jake Hall (Mount Airy, Ga./Tallulah Falls School) throughout the game. Kuberek started and played 90 minutes on defense, winning everything in the air and keeping Regent off balanced with his decisions on the back line. Hall started in the midfield and throughout 90 minutes, controlled the tempo in the midfield on both sides of the ball. Zach Richards (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) was a key substitute in the midfield, having a massive game out wide in the midfield, creating scoring opportunities with various runs.
- The Lemon and Black continued the tough defense in the second half, allowing Regent only one chance at scoring in the final 45 minutes to take home a 1-0 victory.
