– Randolph-Macon Women's Volleyball opened ODAC play with a five-set win at Lynchburg on Wednesday to move to 5-2 on the season.

How it Happened
- The Hornets seized momentum early in the first set, leading 5-2. RMC kept pace for a few points until the Lynchburg lead ballooned to 15-9. A 4-1 run ensued for the Yellow Jackets to cut the deficit down to three, but Lynchburg answered with a 4-0 run to make it 20-13. RMC would storm back, winning 8 of the next 10 points to cut it to one. The Yellow Jackets would tie the score at 23 before LYN had set point at 24-23. RMC worked their way back and three kills by Allison Lach (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) helped RMC complete the comeback and win 27-25.
- It was RMC's turn to take a lead early in a set, as the Yellow Jackets built a 15-7 lead in the second frame. The momentum was all on the side of the Lemon and Black as they pushed the lead out to 10 at 19-9. Lynchburg found their footing, earning some points to cut the deficit down, but RMC closed out the set to win 25-18.
- Lynchburg won the first four points of the third set, and then piled on to extend the lead out to 7-2. The Hornets kept their lead for the majority of the set, pushing it out to 20-14 late. RMC then used a 6-0 run to tie the score at 20. Trying to fend off the sweep, LYN rattled off a 4-0 run to help them take set three, 25-22.
- The fourth set started out tightly contested, as the score was tied 7-7 until Lynchburg stormed out to a 15-8 lead, giving them control of the set. RMC could never find their footing as the Yellow Jackets never brought it back within five for the remainder of the set. LYN forced a deciding set five.
- As expected, both teams battled out of the gate in the fifth set. Lynchburg led 12-11 before Kylie Wilhelmi (Cherry Valley, Ill./Rockford Lutheran) had two kills in the final four points to fuel a 4-0 run and give RMC the win.
Inside the Numbers
- Allison Lach totaled a career-high 17 kills, while hitting .294. She also had two aces and a solo block.
- Kylie Wilhelmi also had 17 kills. She tallied five digs as well.
- Maddy DeCandido (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) led the Yellow Jackets with 19 digs. She added seven assists and an ace.
- Kaitlyn Kaplan (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Collegiate) dished 11 assists while having 17 digs.
- Milly Mach (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) led the way with 19 assists while also having a solo block and four kills.

- RMC has now won six straight matches against Lynchburg, as well as 13 of the last 14. Â
