ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon women's basketball has revealed the 2024-2025 women's basketball schedule. Reigning ODAC Coach of the Year,
Lindsey Burke-Eberhart, enters her fifth season leading the Yellow Jackets.
The Yellow Jackets will start their season on the road against Mary Washington on Wednesday, November 13. Last season the Lemon and Black defeated the nationally-ranked Eagles in Crenshaw Gym in overtime. Randolph-Macon will take part in two tournaments, first in Roanoke, Virginia to take part in the Jean Beamer Tip-Off Classic held at Roanoke College. Gettysburg will be the first opponent for the Yellow Jackets, as the Bullets come in as the reigning Centennial Conference champion from last season, this game will take place on Saturday, November 16. The tournament will conclude in a matchup with Wilkes the following day. In the second tournament Randolph-Macon will host the RMC Tip-Off Classic the weekend of November 22-23. The Yellow Jackets will take on Dickinson College to kick off the tournament and will finish the weekend with Johns Hopkins that played Gettysburg in the conference championship last season. The month of November will complete with a home matchup with reigning Atlantic East conference champion Marymount (Va.) on Tuesday, November 26.
Randolph-Macon will kick off conference play on the road at Eastern Mennonite on December 4 and return home to take on Roanoke on December 7. The Yellow Jackets will spend winter break in Puerto Rico for the Puerto Rico Clasico from December 17-22. Two games will be played during that time frame and Randolph-Macon's matchups will be a test against Rhode Island College and Southern Maine. RIC made an appearance in the Sweet 16 last season and finished with a 29-1 record.
The Lemon and Black will kick off 2025 at home against Ferrum on Wednesday, January 4. RMC will play 11 straight conference games, before taking on Salisbury on Wednesday, February 12 at home. Two-time defending conference champion Washington and Lee will welcome in the Yellow Jackets on Saturday, February 1. In the month of February Randolph-Macon will have four home games and three road games.
The Yellow Jackets finished fifth in the ODAC regular season in the 2023-2024 season with a 13-5 conference record, with losses to W&L, Lynchburg, Bridgewater and Shenandoah. RMC has won 10 or more conference games for six straight seasons (4-0 in '20-21 Covid Season) with the last time of winning less than ten conference games coming in the 2016-2017 season (8-8). The Lemon and Black's 17-9 record last season marked the 11th straight season in which RMC has posted a winning record. Randolph-Macon fell to Roanoke College 77-69 in last year's ODAC Quarterfinal to end the season.
