How it Happened

- Eight minutes later, the Eagles doubled their lead with a goal from substitute Madison Bauserman, as they continued to keep the ball away from Randolph-Macon in the offensive end.
- The Lemon and Black would turn up the heat in their offensive end in the late stages of the first half, taking six shots at goal in the final ten minutes of the first forty-five. Randolph-Macon had an opportunity to cut the lead in half in the 38th minute, as Sammie Hoefs (New Market, Md./Linganore) and Ariel Farmer (Chesterfield, Va./Clover Hill) both had great looks at goal, but were turned away by the Mary Washington defense to close the half down 2-0.
- The second half started slow for both teams, as the Yellow Jackets showed life on the offensive end, having multiple build ups at the Mary Washington goal. In the 80th minute, Lauren Brokaw (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) sent in a booming corner kick and found Moxey to the left side of the box. The freshman headed the ball past the Eagles goalkeeper to notch her first career goal and cut the deficit in half at 2-1.
