ASHLAND, Va. - Randolph-Macon men's tennis moves to 2-7 (1-4) after falling to rival and conference foe Hampden-Sydney College 8-1 at home at the Banks Tennis Center. In doubles play
Max Hammock (Vienna, Va./James Madison) and
Braxton Fagan (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) took home the victory in first doubles 8-5 to start the entire match. Hampden-Sydney would bounce back taking second and third doubles by a score of 16-0. In singles, Hammock and
Max Doyle (Alexandria, Va./St. John's College (D.C)) fought hard sending their matches to a third and final set, but the Tigers would prevail and win both matches.
William Adair (Henrico, Va./Hermitage) was a tough out in sixth single, dropping a close first set 6-4, before falling in set two 6-1. Hampden-Sydney bounced back from dropping first doubles to sweep the final eight matches to take home the victory over Randolph-Macon.
