– Three players scored in double figures for fourth-ranked Randolph-Macon men's basketball as the Yellow Jackets fell to #10 Calvin in the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

How it Happened:
- Malcolm Hodges (Richmond, Va./Monacan) and Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) got the scoring started with two scores in the paint to give RMC a 4-0 advantage. The lead was 6-2 before Calvin used a 10-0 run to take a six-point lead at the first media timeout. The Knights' lead reached double figures and was pushed out to 22-8 before a 6-0 run for RMC brought it back to eight. Calvin kept their lead for the remainder of the first half, not letting the score get any closer than eight. Will Coble (Charlotte, N.C./Davidson Day) knocked down the Yellow Jackets' first three of the game but Calvin took a 37-25 lead into the halftime break.
- RMC opened the second half on a 7-2 run, cutting the deficit to seven, and even cutting it to four at 50-46 with 11:36 left in the game. An 8-0 run ensued for the Knights that would give them a comfortable lead with eight and a half minutes to go. The Yellow Jackets continued to fight their way back into the game but Calvin continued to answer any attempts at a comeback. A three by Calvin pushed the lead back out to 10 with 1:44 to go that ultimately sealed the deal.
Inside the Numbers:
- Daniel Mbangue led the team with 16 points on 8-15 shooting. He also had six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
- Malcolm Hodges finished with 12 points on an efficient 5-7 from the floor. He also had five rebounds.
- Lance Johnson (South Riding, Va./Freedom) came off the bench to score 11 points while grabbing six rebounds.
- RMC had 40 points in the paint as well as just three turnovers.
- The Yellow Jackets held Calvin to zero second chance points.
For the Record:
- RMC's seniors finish their careers with a record of 99-8 overall, and made at least the round of 16 in each full season.
