ATLANTA, Ga. – Randolph-Macon Women's Volleyball played in two tough matches with nationally recognized opponents in Emory and Oglethorpe, the Yellow Jackets would fall 3-0 to Emory and 3-1 to Oglethorpe to conclude the regular season.

How it Happened vs. Emory
- Emory started the game scoring ten out of the first fourteen points. Allison Lach (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) recorded a kill and two straight service aces to bring the Yellow Jackets back within three points at 10-7. Carlie Mariano (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) had a kill to bring Randolph-Macon within two at 12-10. The Eagles went on a run, scoring seven of the next nine points to take momentum with a 19-12 lead in the first set. Lach helped lead a four point run for Randolph-Macon with two kills to pull the Yellow Jackets back within three points at 19-16. Emory ended the first set on a 6-to-2 run to win the set with an overall score of 25-18.
- The second set started with each team battling and traded points, but Emory would take a 8-6 lead. Lach continued her impressive play and led a five point spurt that she accounted for with four kills to give the Yellow Jackets an 11-8 lead. The teams would battle for points through the middle portion of the second set and Lach would record the point to give Randolph-Macon a 20-18 lead. The Eagles used four straight points to help guide them to a slim 25-23 set two win.
- The third set was locked at 7-7 before Randolph-Macon scored the next three points with kills from Lola Nolasco (Georgetown, Tx./Gateway College Prep) and Lach. The score was shown as a 13-11; Yellow Jacket lead and kills by Kylie Wilhelmi (Cherry Valley, Ill./Rockford Lutheran), Ella Courtney (Arlington, Va./Wakefield) and Nolasco guided the lead to jump to 19-11. The Eagles responded down 20-12, by scoring the next seven points to pull within one point. Trinity Mackley (Morrisville, N.C./Panther Creek) had a service ace to give Randolph-Macon a 24-22 lead with set point to come. Emory would again storm back with three straight points to take a 25-24 lead. The Lemon and Black fought through three different match point chances for the Eagles, tying up the third set at 27-27. Emory ended with two final points and ended the match with a kill to win the third set 29-27 and win the match.
Inside the Numbers vs. Emory
- Randolph-Macon totaled six service aces. Emory had just five total aces in the match.
- Lach led the Yellow Jackets with 17 overall kills. The freshman also added two service aces and a .270 hitting percentage to her scoreline.
- Milly Mach (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) registered 15 assists in the match, along with nine digs and a block.
- Wilhelmi had nine digs, eight kills and two blocks in the match.
How it Happened vs. Oglethorpe
- Randolph-Macon took control of the game early on in the first set, scoring four straight points with the score tied at 4-4 to take an 8-4 lead. The Yellow Jackets kept between a two to four point lead throughout the first set, having a late 23-21 lead. The Stormy Petrels took three consecutive points to take a 24-23 lead, while soon after the Yellow Jackets took two straight points, taking the lead back 25-24. Oglethorpe scored the final three points to take a wild first set with a 27-25 win.
- In the second set, the Stormy Petrels started quickly and took control with a 13-6 lead. Randolph-Macon kept clawing back into the set and pulled within one point with a kill from Mach, still down 20-19. Oglethorpe finished with scoring five of the final six points to take control of the match with a 25-20 set win.
- The Yellow Jackets would answer with a quick start of their own in the third set. Five different players recorded a kill to begin the third set and gave Randolph-Macon a 13-7 lead. Oglethorpe would come back and tie up the game at 19-19. The Lemon and Black finished the third set with six out of the final nine points to continue the match into a fourth set, winning by a score of 25-22.
- In the fourth set, both teams managed to trade points and draw even at 10-10. The Stormy Petrels were in control of the middle portion of the set and took a commanding 19-14 lead. The Yellow Jackets would not mount a comeback and Oglethorpe took the match with a fourth set win 25-16.
Inside the Numbers vs. Oglethorpe
- Wilhelmi recorded a team high 17 kills in the match. The junior also registered a .302 hitting percentage.
- Mach led the team in assists with 21 overall in the match.
- Maddy DeCandido (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) led the teams in digs with 13 overall.
