WINCHESTER, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team fell to Shenandoah in a mid-week conference road match by the score of 3-0.

How it Happened
- In the seventh minute of the game, the Hornets were able to put two shots on frame but Adam Braithwaite (Chesterfield, Va./Matoaca) answered the call with back-to-back saves to keep the game at 0-0.
- Shenandoah took the lead in the 13th minute, as the Yellow Jackets cleared the ball back out of the box originally. Leandro Sainz settled the ball at his foot and curled in the ball to the right post for a 1-0 lead for the Hornets.
- The Hornets added a goal in the 22nd minute, Sainz assisted a goal by Ikem Chinedu to double the lead to 2-0.
- In the final thirty minutes of the first half the game would be played in the middle of the field, as neither team held much of an advantage running at goal. Shenandoah would use those two goals to take the lead into halftime at 2-0.
- The Hornets added their third goal of the game in the 53rd minute by Chinedu that was assisted by Kyle Welch.
- Randolph-Macon would end the game by falling to a tough Shenandoah team by a score of 3-0.
- The Yellow Jackets saw highlights from Grant Counts (Odenton, Md./St. Mary's (Annapolis)) and Tyler Steigerwald (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun Valley) in the defensive half throughout the match. Zach DeShazo (Henrico, Va./Mills E. Godwin) would be a key part to the attack for the Lemon and Black.
Inside the Numbers
- Shenandoah had 13 shots in the game, compared to the three that Randolph-Macon tallied.
- Shenandoah held the advantage 4-to-3 in corner opportunities in the 90 minute game.
- Braithwaite made six saves in 90 minutes for the Yellow Jackets.
