LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team played 90 minutes of tough soccer on the road at Lynchburg but fell in the end with a score of 2-0.

How it Happened
- In the first 25 minutes of the game, neither team could gain control of the ball to create a threat offensively. Kevin Sprince (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) had the first shot on goal in the 21st minute off a throw in by Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) that was stopped by the Hornets.
- In the 27th minute, the Yellow Jackets turned over the ball in their defensive half and Lynchburg took advantage with a goal by Zach Whelan that was assisted by William Casey. That would be the first shot on goal for the Hornets and they would take a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
- The Yellow Jackets played an intense first half and had multiple attacks at goal for the majority of the first half to stay within a goal.
- In the second half, Dylan Matheny (Chesterfield, Va./Clover Hill) had the best chance at scoring in the 50th minute as his shot was saved by Thomas Viscuso.
- The Hornets added a penalty kick goal by Manzi Shalita in the final minute to take the victory 2-0.
- Randolph-Macon saw great play in the reserves that played tonight. Zach Richards (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown), Zach DeShazo (Henrico, Va./Mills E. Godwin), Hawkins Adcock (Chester, Va./Thoma Dale), Grant Counts (Odenton, Md./St. Mary's (Annapolis)), Elijah Caro (Asheville, N.C./Black Mountain) and Gavin Drohan (Holly Springs, N.C./Holly Springs) all played crucial minutes off the bench tonight in a tough game.
