Women's Volleyball Falls in San Antonio Trip Finale

SAN ANTONIO, Tex. – Kylie Wilhelmi tallied nine kills and 12 digs as Randolph-Macon Women's Volleyball concluded their San Antonio trip on Saturday with a match against #21 Trinity (Texas).

How it Happened

RMC got out to a 6-3 lead to begin the first set but was answered by Trinity winning four straight to take the lead. After battling for the lead over the next handful of points, RMC took over with a 20-16 advantage. Trinity did not back down, however, as they won six of the next seven points to put them in position to steal the set with a 22-21 lead. They were able to hold off the Yellow Jackets' comeback attempt, winning the final two points to win the set, 25-23.
The momentum carried over for the Tigers, as they won the opening six points of the second set and grew the lead out to 13-2. RMC won three straight points to cut the deficit back to eight, but the Tigers answered with four straight of their own. The Trinity lead grew to 14 at set point, as they led 24-10, and RMC won four straight points to keep the set alive, but the Tigers got the final point to win 25-14.
Like the second set, Trinity began the third with a big lead, taking a 7-2 advantage. The Tigers never won more than three straight points the rest of the set, but they held off the Yellow Jackets, now allowing RMC to get back into the set. Trinity took the third set, 25-16, to earn the sweep.

Inside the Numbers

Kylie Wilhelmi (Cherry Valley, Ill./Rockford Lutheran) totaled nine kills and 12 digs, giving her the team-lead in both categories.
Milly Mach (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) led the Jackets with 14 assists. She also had seven digs and a service ace.
Trinity Makley (Morrisville, N.C./Panther Creek) also had double-digit digs with 10. She also finished with nine aces.
Ella Courtney (Arlington, Va./Wakefield) and Allison Lach (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) each had a block assist.
