How it Happened
- Randolph-Macon had possession of the ball for the majority of the first half to create multiple opportunities against the Panthers. Chazz Jones (Trenton, N.J./Trenton Catholic Academy) broke the game open in the 29th minute, scoring an assisted goal by Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) and Zach DeShazo (Henrico, Va./Mills E. Godwin) to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead.
- The defensive back line of Wiley Eubank (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton), Kevin Sprince (Richmond, Va./Deep Run), Damien Jackson and Grant Counts (Odenton, Md./St. Mary's (Annapolis)) played a huge part in the first 45 minutes, not allowing Ferrum to record a shot on goal and preserving a 1-0 lead at halftime.
- The Lemon and Black doubled its lead in the 73rd minute, as Hawkins Adcock (Chester, Va./Thomas Dale) took a pass from DeShazo to beat the Ferrum goalkeeper.
- Zach Richards (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) and Jake Hall (Mount Airy, Ga./Tallulah Falls School) were both highlights and played huge minutes in the middle of the field the entire game. Randolph-Macon would salt away the remainder of the game and cruise to a 2-0 victory.
