BALTIMORE, Md. – Former Randolph-Macon pitcher Colin Selby is on the postseason roster for the Baltimore Orioles for the Wild Card round of the MLB Playoffs.
Selby is one of 12 pitchers on the 26-man roster for the Orioles.
Fourth-seeded Baltimore hosts the fifth-seeded Kansas City Royals in the best-of-three Wild Card series at Camden Yards. Game 1 is on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 4:08 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN2. Game 2 will be on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4:38 p.m. ET on ESPN. If Game 3 is necessary, it will be on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 4:08 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Selby appeared in three games for the Orioles this season. He hurled four scoreless innings with one hit, two walks and five strikeouts. Selby pitched this past Sunday in the regular season finale at Minnesota, fanning one in a scoreless ninth inning in a 6-2 win for Baltimore.
Selby was a member of the Royals earlier this season and was traded to the Orioles on July 11. When he made his first appearance, he became the 1,000th player in Kansas City Royals history.
The winner of the Baltimore-Kansas City series will advance to the American League Divisional Series against the top-seeded New York Yankees in a best-of-five set.
