Jane Elkins (Annandale, Va./Bishop Ireton) recorded her tenth double-double of the season, as Randolph-Macon women's hoops defeated Hollins University to notch the sweep on the season 49-46.

How it Happened
- Randolph-Macon jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the first period, as a Juliana Park (Fairfax Station, Va./Davidson Day) drained a three pointer to cap off the run at the 4:07 mark. Park also started the game with a three ball to give the Yellow Jackets their first lead of the game. Hollins ended the final four minutes on a 7-0 run to pull within one at 10-9 to finish the first period.
- Park made back-to-back threes to begin the second period and Marisa Ziegler (Forest Hill, Md./John Carroll) made a lay-up soon after to cap off an 8-0 run to put RMC in front 18-9. Cait Velez (Wallingford, Conn./Mark T. Sheehan) gave the Lemon and Black their biggest lead of the first half, splitting a pair of free throws with :31 seconds to give RMC a 27-16 lead at the half.
- Hollins pulled within four at the 7:12 mark of the third period with a pair of Cabria Mutz free throws, still Randolph-Macon led 27-23. Velez made both of her free throws to put the Yellow Jackets back up ten at 35-25, on a 8-2 RMC run. Both teams ended the period with 13 points scored and a 40-29 lead would propel the Yellow Jackets into the final period.
- In the fourth period Hollins continued to dwindle down the RMC lead and Sarah Morales made a free throw at the 4:23 mark to tie the game up at 44-44. Elkins scored the final five of the six points for Randolph-Macon to help secure a close 49-46 win for the Yellow Jackets.
Inside the Numbers
- Randolph-Macon shot 30.0% from the floor, as Hollins knocked down 36.2% of their shots.
- RMC outrebounded Hollins 46-to-35.
- Elkins finished with 20 points to lead the scoring for RMC. The sophomore also recorded 16 rebounds, one block and a steal.
- Park went 4-of-9 from downtown to total 13 points. The junior also grabbed four rebounds and had a steal.
- Ziegler ended the night with nine points, five rebounds, an assist and a block.
