th ranked Randolph-Macon men's hoops defeated 2
nd ranked Guilford in Greensboro on Saturday, 65-61.

How it Happened:
- Lance Johnson (South Riding, Va./Freedom) opened the game with a jumper to give RMC the lead early. Will Coble helped RMC build out a six point lead with two triples to give the Yellow Jackets a 16-10 lead at the first media timeout. RMC hit six of their first 12 threes in the opening 13 and a half minutes to hold a 25-13 lead in the first. The Yellow Jackets led 32-18 with five minutes to go in the half as they held the Quakers to just 5-20 from the field over that span. Guilford came out of a timeout with a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 32-25. Coble hit his third three of the half to end to end the run, pushing the lead back to 10. The Quakers hit two threes in the final 35 seconds of the half to send the game to halftime at 35-33 RMC.
- Guilford came out of the break crashing the offensive boards, getting four second chance points in the first two minutes to take the lead. Will Coble answered with his fourth triple to regain the lead for RMC. The lead kept shifting hands and was tied at 54 with 8:33 to go before neither team scored for the ensuing four minutes. A Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) free throw broke the drought to give RMC the lead. That began a 4-0 run but GC answered with a three pointer to cut the lead again and eventually took the lead 59-58. A Keishawn Pulley Jr. three with a minute left gave the Yellow Jackets 1 63-61 lead. Malcolm Hodges (Richmond, Va./Monacan) sealed the win with two free throws with 19 seconds remaining.
Inside the Numbers:
- Keishawn Pulley Jr. had 23 points, hitting five threes in his second straight game. He also was 6-7 from the charity stripe.
- Will Coble shot a perfect 5-5 from three-point land in the win for 15 points.
- Daniel Mbangue neared an unorthodox double-double with 11 rebounds and eight assists on the day.
- RMC continues to light it up from three, shooting 13-23 (56.5%) from beyond the arc. They have hit double-digit threes in three straight games.
- The Yellow Jackets only had five turnovers. Entering the game, they were fifth in the nation with just 9.8 turnovers per game.
- With the win, RMC moves to 15-5 since 2019 against ranked opponents.
