LEXINGTON, Va. – Randolph-Macon Women's Swimming finished fifth with 217 points in the ODAC Relays in Lexington to open the season.
In the first event of the day, RMC had two relay teams place in the top 10. The top finish was fifth in the 100 free by a group of
Melina Christou (Smithfield, Va./Menchville),
Eliza Brock-Turner (Newport News, Va./Manchester),
Tess Williams (Midlothian, Va./James River), and
Cayden Fix (Barboursville, Va./William Monroe).
Christou, Williams, and Fix also finished fourth in the 3x50 butterfly in 1.23.35.
RMC got a podium finish in the 3x50 breaststroke. The relay team of
Teaghan McNeill (Knightdale, N.C./Enloe),
Sophia Hanson (Hamilton, Va./Woodgrove), and
Katelyn Vieni (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) finished the event in 1.38.22.
Vieni,
Brooklyn DeCann (Huntersville, N.C./Lincoln Charter), and Christou also took a top five finish in the 3x100 IM relay in 3.15.35.
RMC as a team finished with four top-five finishes on the day. The Yellow Jackets will have their intrasquad meet on Oct. 7 before opening the season in a dual meet with Mary Washington on Oct. 26 in Ashland.
