ASHLAND, Va. – The Randolph-Macon men's soccer team hosted (RV) Lynchburg for an ODAC matchup on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets fell short in a defensive battle after falling victim to two Hornets goals.

How it Happened
- The majority of the first half was dominated by the defense in an aggressive game on both sides. Five yellow cards were given out in the first half between both teams.
- The defensive back line of Jake Hall (Mount Airy, Ga./Tallulah Falls School), Trevor Moyer (Hampton, Va./Kecoughton), Kodi Tannor (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian), Damien Jackson (Newport News, Va./Menchville) and Bryce Kuberek (King George, Va./King George) for RMC played a huge role in keeping the Hornets out of goal.
- Lynchburg was threatening all throughout the first half and broke through in the final minute of the first period. The Hornets sent in a free kick that Josh Auger headed it over to Trevor Miller as he put it away for a LYN 1-0 lead at the half.
- The second half presented more tough play by both teams with four more cards being given to total nine in the game.
- Lynchburg added an insurance penalty kick in the 77th minute from Carter Averette that was given by a hand-ball by the Yellow Jackets.
- Randolph-Macon had chances in the box, but could not break through to score a goal, the Lemon and Black defense held tough throughout the game.
- Wiley Eubank (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton) got his second start of the season, he played a huge role on the defensive end and in the midfield to create chances for RMC.
- Adam Braithwaite (Chesterfield, Va./Matoaca) got the start in goal for the Yellow Jackets and made many impressive saves in his first start of the season.
Inside the Numbers
- Lynchburg outshot the Yellow Jackets 14-to-2. The Hornets put eight on frame to RMC's zero.
- The Hornets had nine corner opportunities to Randolph-Macon's two.
- Braithwaite made six saves in goal for the Lemon and Black.
