How it Happened:
- Randolph never had a lead in the first set, but the score stayed close throughout. RMC pulled out to a 16-10 lead before a 4-0 WildCats run made it close once again. The Yellow Jackets led 21-19 before taking the final four points of the set to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
- Set two was similar to set one, but RMC gradually built their lead at the beginning of the frame. After Randolph sparked a 5-1 run to cut the deficit to two, the Yellow Jackets expanded the lead again with a 5-0 run that would eventually be too much to handle.
- Set three was tied 8-8 before RMC stepped on the gas pedal with a 6-1 run and eventually built out to a 23-14 lead. The WildCats showed life late in the set, cutting the lead to six but RMC put the match away with a kill by Grace Parker (Andover, N.J./Pope John XXIII).
By the Numbers:
- Parker was a dominant force, totaling 20 kills and hitting .439 on the night. She added two blocks to her credit as well.
- The middle trio of Mia Zazzero (Tampa, Fla./Holy Names), Lola Nolasco (Georgetown, Tx./Gateway College Prep), and Jordynn Little (Apex, N.C./Green Level) combined for 16 kills and three blocks.
