How it Happened
- It was an offense-heavy first quarter, despite zero goals being put on the board. The Yellow Jackets put up nine shots, five were saved by the Meredith goalkeeper. Anna Scheir (Fallston, Md./Fallston) had two defensive saves in the first frame to keep the game scoreless.
- Scheir kept rolling into the second quarter, assisting on a goal by Lynn Giesken (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) to open the scoring. RMC's offense was providing a lot of pressure, totaling 13 shots in the first half of play, leading 1-0 heading into the halftime break.
- Courtney Moodie (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) extended the RMC lead after taking a feed from Emma Landis (Annandale, N.J./North Hunterdon) just five minutes into the second half.
- Call it déjà vu in the fourth quarter as Landis fed Moodie again for their second connection of the day, extending the Yellow Jackets' lead to three. Mia Kuhnle (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) was able to add a goal in the fourth as well, just two minutes later, off a pass from Aja Washington (Chesapeake, Va./Grassfield). In the final moments, Holle Sink (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) notched her first career goal to make the score 5-0.
