WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Randolph-Macon Men's Soccer team visited Catholic University for a tough mid-week non-conference matchup in the nation's capital. The Cardinals rode three first half goals en route to victory over the Yellow Jackets 3-0.
The Basics
Score: Catholic 3, Randolph-Macon 0
Location/Venue: Washington, D.C./Catholic University of America/Carlini Field

How it Happened
- The Cardinals didn't waste time to grab the lead early, as Gordie Bernlohr cashed in a goal on a Kwaku Marfo-Sarbeng pass into the box in the second minute of the game.
- In the 26th minute, Bernlohr doubled the Catholic lead from a strike outside of the box to record his second goal in the match.
- The scoring frenzy continued for the Cardinals in the first half, when Seth Michalak converted a goal on a high shot, assisted by Lorenzo Carletti. Catholic found the back of the net with three goals on only three shots on frame in the first 45 minutes.
- The Yellow Jackets came out of the halftime break with the advantage, winning the time of possession advantage early, but great saves by the Cardinals goalkeeper kept RMC off the board.
- Both defenses stood tough in the second half blocking shot, making both offenses work for opprotunities, but the early goals by the Cardinals proved to be too much for the Lemon and Black.
