ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon women's swimming finished second out of seven teams in the Arena Yellow Jacket Invitational over the weekend with 1097 total points.

RMC took the top two spots in the 1650 free with
Kierra Parsons (Akron, Pa./Ephrata) cruising to an 18:07.32 finish.
Brooklyn DeCann (Huntersville, N.C./Lincoln Charter) finished second in the event with an 18:47.04 time.

Kelsey James (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) took gold in the 200 back, winning by a second with a time of 2:11.05.

Cayden Fix (Barboursville, Va./William Monroe) grabbed another top-five finish on the weekend, finishing fourth in the 100 free. She was right in the mix with a 54.68 time, just .46 from the top spot.

Sophia Hanson (Hamilton, Va./Woodgrove) and
Anna Sprott (Hampton, Va./Peninsula Catholic) both finished in the top-five in the 200 breast. Hanson finished third in 2:32.61 and Sprott finished fifth in 2:38.89.

Caroline Russell (Lynchburg, Va./EC Glass) had a strong swim in the 200 fly, finishing in 2:16.14 for second place. She was followed by her teammate
Melina Christou (Smithfield, Va./Menchville) who finished third with a 2:16.87 time.

The Yellow Jackets took home first place in the 400 free relay with a group of
Teaghan McNeill (Knightdale, N.C./Enloe), Parsons, James, and Fix. They finished in 3:42.85.

RMC also finished third in the 800 free relay with DeCann,
Katelyn Vieni (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis), Parsons, and Russell with a time of 8:09.30.

Randolph-Macon will be back in action over a month from now, returning to the pool on January 5 for a meet at Marymount at noon.
