ASHLAND, Va. – Randolph-Macon women's swimming sits second with 694 points after day one of the Yellow Jacket Invitational.

Katelyn Vieni (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) won the 100 breast in 1:07.71 as RMC took the top three spots in the event. Sophia Hanson (Hamilton, Va./Woodgrove) finished second in 1:09.63 and Teaghan McNeill (Knightdale, N.C./Enloe) finished third in 1:10.58.

Melina Christou (Smithfield, Va./Menchville) took second in the 200 IM in 2:11.71 while Vieni finished one spot behind in 2:12.03. Christou also finished third in the 100 fly in 59.66.

Cayden Fix (Barboursville, Va./William Monroe) took a second-place finish in the 50 free in a tight finish, with a time of 25.05. Kelsey James (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) finished in the top-five, slotting fourth in 25.17.

RMC grabbed the third and fourth spots in the 100 back. Kelsey James finished third in 1:01.37 and Abby Kozlowski (Bel Air, Md./Notre Dame Prep) finished fourth in 1:02.17.

The Yellow Jackets finished third in the 200 yard medley relay in 1:51.69, just over a second out of a first-place finish. They also finished third in the 400 yard medley relay in 4:05.15.

The third and final session of the Yellow Jacket Invitational will commence at 8:45 a.m. tomorrow morning at SwimRVA.
