Parker's 18 Kills Leads Women's Volleyball vs. UMW

ASHLAND, Va. – Grace Parker (Andover, N.J./Pope John XXIII) totaled 18 kills in a three-set match against Mary Washington on Wednesday.
Score:  Mary Washington 3, Randolph-Macon 0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-22)

How it Happened
  • RMC began the first set holding a commanding lead, building out to 16-10 at its peak. UMW would come back to tie the score at 17 and won the final seven points of the set after trailing 19-18 to win 25-19.
  • Once again, RMC held a lead in the second set, leading 10-6 before the Eagles went on a 7-2 run to take a 13-12 lead. RMC answered with a 5-2 run and led 22-20 late before UMW won five of the final six points to take set two.
  • It was Mary Washington who jumped out to a lead in set three and RMC battled to keep the score close throughout. After a 16-16 tie, UMW ignited a 4-0 run to build a lead but RMC wouldn't back down, bringing the deficit back to one, 21-20. The Eagles would hold off the Yellow Jackets to complete the sweep.
Inside the Numbers
  • Grace Parker notched 18 kills and hit .343 to lead the way.
  • Milly Mach (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) finished with 11 assists per set to total 33 assists in the match. She also led the team with 12 digs.
  • Leslie Currie (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) had a team-high three service aces.
  • RMC totaled seven service aces to just two for Mary Washington.

RMC will be back in action on Friday for a 2:00 p.m. matchup with Rhodes as part of the Emory Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia.
