How it Happened:
  • RMC built their first set lead, thanks to a 7-1 run to push the score to 13-7 and forcing a W&L timeout. The Generals would cut the deficit to two, 17-15, but RMC extended it once again with another 7-1 run to take a 23-15 which they would hold to win set one.
  • The second set was tight until the Generals opened a four-point lead at 16-12. RMC roared back with a 12-3 run to take a five-point lead at 24-19, capping the second set to build more momentum heading into the third.
  • The Yellow Jackets took that momentum and ran with it, jumping out to a 6-1 lead in a blink. The set got out of hand after an 11-1 RMC run to push the lead out to 21-8 and they would cruise to the finish, earning a sweep over the conference rival.
By the Numbers:
  • RMC hit a season-high .347 with 51 team kills, their most in a three-set match this year.
  • Megan Bost (Angier, N.C./West Johnston) provided big plays from the right side, totaling 13 kills with just one error, hitting .500 in the match.
